We’re kicking this mid-week round up with gaming;
2: A short interview/introduction to a steampunk/sandbox-ish title Dishonored.
In Dishonored you play a supernatural assassin capable of sneaky stealth takedowns, animal possession, and balls-to-the-wall destructive carnage. Which will you choose?
Enter the world of Journey, the third game from acclaimed indie developers thatgamecompany and presented by SCEA Santa Monica Studio.
Journey is an interactive parable, an anonymous online adventure to experience a person’s life passage and their intersections with other’s.
You wake alone and surrounded by miles of burning, sprawling desert, and soon discover the looming mountaintop which is your goal.
Faced with rolling sand dunes, age-old ruins, caves and howling winds, your passage will not be an easy one. The goal is to get to the mountaintop, but the experience is discovering who you are, what this place is, and what is your purpose.
Travel and explore this ancient, mysterious world alone, or with a stranger you meet along the way. Soar above ruins and glide across sands as you discover the secrets of a forgotten civilization.
Featuring stunning visuals, haunting music, and unique online gameplay, Journey delivers an experience like no other.
On a more personal subject – it seems as though I might be moving abroad some time, well, later this year. So suddenly I’ve started to read articles, columns and forums such as:
4: 7 Things You Miss Out On By Not Living Alone At Least Once – The Frisky. I do plan on living alone some time in the future. Right now it seems a whole lot smarter to divide the burden of costs with someone else… Like my two cousins.
5: I’m a nineteen year old about to get a place of my own for the first time. What are some things you wish you had known before you moved out on your own? – AskReddit It’s somehow reassuring and bolstering to read other peoples stresses on moving out when you’re under the same stresses…
And then I headed over to Cracked.com where my mood is always elevated just a little bit higher and where my bank of trivia knowledge always grows. This time;
And then I did the horrible act of stumbling upon this article:
7: The 8 Most Awkward Sexual Moments in Comic Book History – Cracked.com. No, you did not read incorrectly, Yes, it says “most awkward sexual moments” together with “comic book”. The title promises, the article delivers. Favorite among roommates (who are somewhat comic-fans) were the “Superman and Batman cry over alien tentacle sex” and “Iron Man’s Abusive Boyfriend”. I promise it’s nothing all too NSFW or risque, it’s just a hooting giggle and marvelling over what Marvel and DC have written and published.
Moving to more grander subjects we come to world news and hijinks of various countries the world over.
8: University of Michigan researchers crack pilot project for e-voting system in the US, “Within 48 hours of the system going live, we had gained near complete control of the election server” – h-online.com
9: US Government attempting to claim ownership over the Web – ExtraTorrent (This could be a newsduck, I’m trying to see if any else has reported this)
11: Encyclopedia Britannica halts print publication after 244 years – The Guardian. End of an era.
From newly discovered, never before seen human fossils to
And further on into the realms of science and rationality:
15: Did you know about the Immortality Drive? Well, neither did I until someone supplied me with the link.
Into the rabbit hole that is reddit:
17: You rarely read or see anything like this – an example of ruthless honesty:
18: And it’s touching to see and read total strangers care about one another, those in need of supporting and guiding words:
Onwards to lighter things on reddit:
19: A redditor is attempting to tackle 100 movies in a 100 days and has posted the entire list of the movies to be watched. The list has been altered for exchange of certain movies to others but the entire list is pretty extensive and features some great classics.
20: And here’s a thread that made me chuckle for a long time: Reddit, if countries were people who would be dating? Take nothing seriously in this thread. I love the comments about the Nordic/Scandinavian countries – they are all too true in regards to how the Nordic countries interact with one another.
At last we come to the home stretch.
21: Joss Whedon wakes the Firefly community by informing in an interview that he’d like to revisit the series. Fingers crossed that some big shot hears about this – we need to get Firefly back!
22: Here’s a lovely blog post about a series of French photographic postcards that depict women in future jobs or careers that have been originally posted on the blog La boite verte (series is called Les Femmes de l’Avenir (Women of the Future)). My favorites?

23: The last gallery of this week’s mid-week round-up is a bit of a weird one – it’s a imgur gallery of a rather, well, lecherous Woody (yes, from Toy Story) wreaking havoc in Toy kingdom… Let’s just say that the mildest image is this one:
And that’s it! Now I’m off to edit some images that need some serious editing.
